About the Netflix gift card
Netflix gift cards add prepaid credit to a Netflix account. Common Canadian denominations are $25, $50, and $100. The credit covers any Netflix plan available in Canada (Standard with ads, Standard, or Premium) — once redeemed, the balance is used automatically each month until depleted.
Netflix gift cards are region-locked: a Canadian gift card works only on a Canadian Netflix account.

How to redeem
- Open netflix.com/redeem in a browser.
- If you don't already have a Netflix account, you'll be prompted to create one (or sign in to an existing account).
- Scratch off the panel on the back of the card to reveal the PIN.
- Enter the PIN and click Redeem.
The credit is applied to your Netflix account. If your account is currently free or expired, your subscription activates immediately. If you have an active paid subscription with a credit card, Netflix uses the gift card balance first and pauses credit-card billing until the gift card is exhausted.
Using your Netflix gift card balance
You can check your remaining gift card balance from your Netflix account: sign in, go to Account, and look in the membership/billing section. Netflix automatically deducts the monthly subscription cost from the gift balance until it runs out, then resumes whatever payment method is on file (or pauses your subscription if there's none).
Common questions
Can I use a Netflix gift card to start a free trial extension?
The card simply credits your account. If Netflix isn't currently offering a free trial in Canada, redeeming a card just starts paid time immediately.
Can I gift it to someone in another country?
No — Netflix gift cards are region-locked. A Canadian card cannot be redeemed on a Netflix account registered in another country.
What if my account is part of an extra-member arrangement?
Netflix's "extra member" billing is on the primary account holder, not the additional members. The gift card needs to be redeemed on the primary account that pays.
Does the credit expire?
Once redeemed, the credit doesn't expire — Netflix keeps it on file and uses it for future subscription payments.
